Massage

‘Protecting Hands Techniques’ – this workshop is designed to help massage therapists prevent damage to the fingers, thumbs and hands/wrists; recent research around the world has shown that massage therapists are encountering serious hand and wrist problems as a result of their work. You will learn over this one day workshop new and effective skills that can easily be integrated into your massage practice.

We will cover:-

  • How and where to best use them;
  • How to moderate the pressure to be sensitive to clients needs;
  • How to use yours, and the clients body, rather than working too hard with your         arms and shoulders;
  • How to incorporate these techniques smoothly into massage sessions.

Massage as an ‘Healing Art’

I have been massaging and teaching massage for some 15 years now. Since beginning working with this most powerful of ‘healing arts’ I have explored the connection between the energies of both client and therapist, and the part that plays in the releasing of congested energy in the body systems. I have now taken that a step further by using techniques that are using the soft tissue of the therapists arm to achieve a powerful energy release; and also save the hard work on the therapist’s hands. The feedback from my clients, since working with these techniques in my clinic, has been extremely positive.

We will have almost seven hours together to explore these techniques, so that you can adapt them into your healing sequence for your clients.

If we want to carry on with this extremely powerful and important healing art then we need to take our practice to another level, and protect our own body at the same time – here is your opportunity.

The workshop organise is over one day, it is a place where therapists can get together and explore new techniques, and practice/perfect them before taking them back to use in their own clinic.

I have over 15 years experience working in complementary therapies; in my own practice and teaching since 2003 – I am a qualified teacher with a Cert Ed and a member of the Association of Therapeutic Lecturers.

I am bound by a professional code of ethics through my membership of governing bodies and have a commitment to Continual Professional Development in the field of natural medicine.
